Habitat restoration and invasive plant management
Clearing dumpsites, cutting and removing vines and other invasive plants, planting native trees and shrubs, and building deer exclosures and fences.
Trail construction and maintenance
New trail built to your plan and shaped to the land for drainage and year-round use, plus maintenance and reroutes away from problem areas.
Green stormwater infrastructure
Installing and maintaining rain gardens, bioswales and other green infrastructure, working with your designers and managers.
Vacant land improvements
Removing dumped items and overgrowth, planting grass, trees or flowers, installing fences and benches, and ongoing maintenance.
Tree planting and care
Planting, watering, pruning and mulching, so new trees get through their first seasons and established ones stay healthy.
Basic carpentry
Garden beds, fences, wooden steps, benches and simple structures that make a site usable.
How a crew works
One crew, a full week of work.
A Landforce crew is usually six Crew Members and one crew leader, working about 200 hours a week on your project. Crew size can change to fit the job.
Our Land Stewardship team handles the logistics. Crews are generally available May through November, and we can take on limited off-season work too.

1,400 ft of new trail
Crouse Run
For Pine Creek Land Conservation Trust
The reserve now has a complete trail around its perimeter, and the new bridge spans a wetland that feeds Crouse Run, a tributary of Pine Creek.
42,000+ gallons of stormwater captured (expected)
Homewood North Rain Garden
For Storm Works (Nine Mile Run Watershed Association) and the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh
Storm Works expects the garden, at the highest point in Homewood, to keep more than 42,000 gallons of stormwater out of storm drains.
