How Landforce works
Landforce runs two social enterprises. Crew Members train and work in both, so every project that restores a hillside or turns a fallen tree into lumber is also paid training for a lasting career.
Every Crew Member starts with eight weeks of paid training and earns seven industry-recognized certifications. Then the training continues on the job, in paid transitional employment inside both social enterprises, with career coaching throughout.

Landforce once again blew me away with how quickly and professionally they were able to complete difficult projects. The trail they completed in Polish Hill was met with acclaim by local residents.
The Mill
Landforce opened The Mill in October 2025: a 10,000-square-foot facility in Pittsburgh’s East End where Crew Members mill and kiln-dry logs that might otherwise have gone to a landfill or ended up as firewood or chips.
